Beschreibung:

Matti Goldschmidt, born 1951 in Graz (Austria), living in Munich (Germany), one of the most knowledgeable instructors of Israeli folk dances in the German-speaking countries and at the same time a very competent author on the subject, has examined every Israeli folk dance at hand and chosen those 53 dances whose lyrics can be traced back to the Bible. He has researched the development of the dances and describes their origins. Wherever necessary, such as in dealing with preconceived notions of supposedly "biblical" dances, he sets the record straight. Wherever possible, the author has included detailed descriptions of the dances and pictures for illustration. The result is a resource full of information and inspiration for those who, in their own dealings with Israeli folk dances, are interested in the dances' connection to the Bible and want to do something with that knowledge.
